 Transforming care in Kenya

High-quality medical care at prices even the poorest Kenyans can afford.

We're changing lives and creating a healthier future for East Africa.

Unlocking better health for Kenya's poor

For decades, the team at Mission Medical Charitable Trust has delivered high-quality, low-cost medical care in Kenya. This care saves lives—and making it affordable changes the trajectories of thousands of low-income Kenyans. We've also trained hundreds of competent nurses and funded scholarships to continue the medical education of our staff.

We're still revolutionizing medical ministry, making better health and medical education a reality for tens of thousands of Kenyans in need.

From dying patient to healthy staff member

Meet Steve

In his youth Steve suffered a serious motorbike accident. The resulting paralysis and lack of treatment almost took his life—until he ended up in the care of MMCT's medical team.

Although Steve's lower half was permanently paralyzed, our hospital staff helped him regain strength in his arms. Our doctors treated bedsores and other wounds and got Steve a crank wheelchair to help him regain mobility. Most importantly, he found hope.

Steve now lives independently. He works greeting and directing patients at St. Joseph's Rift Valley Hospital, where his smile and story spread that hope to all who meet him.

Motorbike accidents are common in Kenya. One of our dreams is to rehabilitate other paralyzed young men in a sustainable, specially-outfitted village to help them regain their dignity and their lives.

Your donations can help make this dream a reality.

Our Impact

We exist to transform as many lives as possible. Patients travel from all over Kenya to be treated at St. Joseph's Rift Valley Hospital—including many who can't afford care elsewhere.

Our hospital, clinic, school of health sciences, and other initiatives make quality healthcare and education accessible to tens of thousands of low-income Kenyans.

Changing thousands of lives, one person at a time.

Sustainable, patient-centered care at scale

Medical ministry for the 21st century

When starting his first hospital in Nairobi in the late 1990s, Dr. Fryda vowed to work with people, not just for them. For over two decades, Dr. Bill Fryda and his team have worked to deliver life-changing medical care to people in need.

We're revolutionizing medical ministry in AfricaFocusing on patient outcomes while empowering staff has been a major success. Today, our team of highly-qualified local medical professionals work together to give poor Kenyans quality care at the lowest possible prices.

At St. Joseph's, patient care always comes first. This is intentional: doctors' schedules are flexible, allowing providers to give each patient the time and care they need.

We are trying to truly put Christian principles of healing—not pursuing profit—into action. This makes a huge impact on the more than one million patients (and counting) in East Africa treated by our team members during the past 20 years.
