Medical Textbook Drive

Medical Mission Charitable Trust runs St. Joseph’s hospital, clinic, and nursing school in central Kenya to provide high-quality, affordable health care to underserved populations. To build up our medical reference library for staff and students, we’re seeking the following:

Medical school-related textbooks. We can use all textbooks on subjects like:

  • Biochemistry

  • Anatomy

  • Physiology

  • Microbiology

Books on all clinical specialties and subspecialties:

Nursing school needs:

  • We’d love a wide spectrum of nursing materials! We accept diverse nursing educational materials like those listed above—including anatomy, biochemistry, etc.—that can serve as a reference for our nursing students and staff.

  • No need to send large numbers of one book. More diverse materials are better; our coursework is based on textbook printings that are locally available in Kenya.

Non-book reference materials. The following are also useful:

  • Good teaching digital clips

  • Medical and nursing teaching posters

  • CPR materials

  • Medical mannikins

Condition: We prefer well-kept textbooks published in the past 15 years. We will accept relevant, good-condition textbooks with earlier publication dates. (Please use your best judgment if sending older books to make sure the information is up-to-date)

Please don’t donate journals and magazines. Medical journals and magazines we’ve found are not generally worth the cost of shipping to Kenya.
